A Western suburbs Melbournian, Mini completed her Diploma & Bachelor in Business Marketing at Victoria University & then continued her education at Swinburne University with a Post Graduate in Multimedia Communication. A career opportunity saw Mini make the move to London to specialise in online communications. Her career in the UK introduced her to leading advertising agencies & cutting edge technologies. “I experienced work environments that at the time were fun & edgy, but all along were a prelude to creating my own egalitarian company. My career experiences have ranged from small family business, to multibillion-dollar international organisations. I have taken bits from all the journeys to get to where I am today - I am damn proud,” Mini says. The Ottoman3 brand has been years in the making. With strong foundation of cultural heritage & family influence, Mini knew back in Year 7 when designing her first logo ‘La Latif’, that she would open her own business. It was that decision that inspired her to work & live abroad in order to transition her dreams into reality. Today Mini also entertains us with her tongue in cheek Blog ‘Beauty & The Business’. Here she does the typical Blogette things like review products. Yet what her followers enjoy most is her Vlogs on running your own small business. Often heartfelt, but most certainly raw & open, she is now one of Australia’s first entrepreneurs that have opened the door to see behind the scenes in the making of her company, the product line & demystifies the reality of being a small business operator in Australia.
Ottoman3 was founded in May 2009 after a 5 year search & several trips around the globe. It started with the desire to bring beauty rituals of ancient times back to the forefront of Beauty today. The ancient art of Threading was introduced to Ottoman3 founder Mini Latif when she was just 3 years old. Threading is a hair removal technique using cotton thread. There are many methods that can be learnt, but ultimately it takes years & hundreds of Brows before one can master the art. Beginning with the flagship store in Myer Highpoint, continued demand for high quality service led to expansion of the business to include 3 new locations & the release of their custom made product line.

What is the Ottoman in Ottoman3?
Inspired by the great architecture of the Ottoman Empire, we decided to design our Brow Bars around the luxury of that time. With Byzantine and Persian influences, Ottoman3 used the colours of Gold reflecting the indulgences, the Blues for the flow of water and White to represent cleanliness and purity.
